Our body can?t synthesize those eight amino acids. In other words, they are called ?essential amino acids.? Typically, these are the eight essential amino acids: phenylalanine, valine, threonine, tryptophan, isoleucine, methionine, leucine, and lysine. Some people say that histidine should be an essential amino acid, but it only occurs in some cases. Without these eight amino acids, our muscles can degrade, and we will be emaciated.

Hope this helps!
